Output settings

PNG preserves the decoded canvas pixels and transparency. JPEG fills transparent areas with white. JPEG/WebP are re-encoded even at 100% quality. Only encoders supported by your browser are enabled.

Pixels stay visible. This removes embedded source metadata, not names, faces, addresses or watermarks shown in the picture. It does not erase copies already shared.

The checkerboard indicates transparency. After export, the preview shows the actual encoded image. Outputs are limited to 60 MiB. Inspect fine details at full size.

Your photo stays on your device. Processing uses browser memory. No uploads, accounts or remote processing. Original files are unchanged. Remove the image or leave this page to release retained resources.

A copy with less hidden information.

  1. Choose a still image

Open a JPEG, PNG or WebP. The file is decoded locally, including its orientation. No filename or file contents are sent to our server.

  2. Choose your output

Use PNG to avoid another lossy encoding, or JPEG/WebP for a different size tradeoff. Dimensions keep the browser-applied orientation; original color profiles are not preserved.

  3. Download the new copy

Export, review the actual encoded preview, and save the result. The original stays unchanged. The output size can increase, especially when saving a photograph as PNG.

What does metadata removal mean here?

Which details are discarded?

Source EXIF (including GPS, camera model and capture time), XMP, IPTC, comments and embedded thumbnails are not copied. We do not display or collect these fields. The download uses a generic filename.

Is the output completely tag-free?

A new browser-encoded image may include basic format, color-space or density information. It does not inherit the source metadata. This is a pixel rebuild, not a lossless edit of the original file’s headers.

Does the picture change?

EXIF rotation is baked into the pixels. Pixel dimensions follow that orientation. Color management and JPEG/WebP compression can change colors or detail. PNG avoids additional lossy compression, but cannot recover missing detail.

Will it hide information in the picture?

No. Visible information and information encoded within pixel patterns can remain. This is not redaction or a guarantee of anonymity. Use Crop & Rotate to remove unwanted edges and review the downloaded file before sharing.

Can I keep the file below an upload limit?

There is no target-size guarantee here. After exporting, use the Image Compressor for a maximum KB target or the Photo Resizer for exact dimensions.

What about PDFs and animated images?

This tool accepts still JPEG, PNG and WebP images only. It does not sanitize PDFs or animated files. Use PDF to Images when you need a visible page as a picture.
