Document Photo Resizer.

Prepare a photo for a form that specifies both dimensions and file size. Keep the exact output pixels you choose, and see when a KB target cannot be met.

Local processingExact output pixelsJPEG & PNG

Up to 20 MiB, 24 megapixels and 12,000 px per side. Source orientation is applied. Source metadata is discarded from exports.

Output settings

Whole pixels, up to 12,000 per side and 24 megapixels. Millimetres: up to 1,000 per side, converted to whole pixels at 72–600 DPI. This does not set the exported file’s density tag.

Background fill affects transparent pixels and padding; it does not remove an existing background. JPEG cannot preserve transparency.

1 KB = 1,000 bytes. JPEG tries quality up to 95%, down to your floor, without reducing dimensions. PNG is lossless and has no quality search. An unmet limit produces an error and no download.

Your image will appear here.

The checkerboard indicates transparency. After export, the preview shows the actual encoded image. Outputs are limited to 60 MiB. Inspect fine details at full size.

Your photo stays on your device. Processing uses browser memory. No uploads, accounts or remote processing. Original files are unchanged. Remove the image or leave this page to release retained resources.

Meet dimensions and file size together.

  1. Read the requirement

    For a 600 × 600 px form, enter those exact dimensions. For 35 × 45 mm at 300 DPI, use millimetres; rounding gives 413 × 531 pixels.

  2. Choose fit or crop

Fit keeps all content with padding. Crop fills the box and lets you align the photo with keyboard-accessible controls. Stretch deliberately changes proportions.

  3. Check the actual export

Inspect the encoded preview and measured byte count. A strict KB target and fixed dimensions may not work at your quality floor. Change the requirement or settings rather than accepting a wrongly sized file.

Before submitting a document photo

Will a millimetre setting guarantee print size?

It determines pixel dimensions at your chosen resolution. Browser exports can carry a different DPI tag. Use the Photo Print Sheet Maker for exact physical PDF placement.

Can a small image become sharp by enlarging it?

No. Upscaling creates more pixels but cannot recover detail. We show a warning when the output enlarges source content. Official document acceptance is not guaranteed.

Why might the KB target fail?

The format, image detail, exact dimensions and quality floor constrain the result. JPEG uses a bounded search, not a proof that every possible encoding is impossible. PNG exports are measured once.

How is this different from the compressor?

The Image Compressor can reduce dimensions to reach a target. This resizer preserves your requested output pixels. Check results with the DPI checker.
